Thorens SoundWall HP 600 - yra aukštos klasės (High-End) trijų juostų akustinė sistema, sukurta pagal atvirojo ekrano (angl. open baffle) dipolinį principą. Šias išskirtinio dizaino kolonėles bendrovei Thorens suprojektavo garsus garso sistemų inžinierius Joachim Gerhard. Jos atgaivina istorinę 1970–1980 m. „Thorens SoundWall“ (HP 360 ir HP 380) koncepciją, pritaikydamos ją šiuolaikiniam interjerui ir akustikos poreikiams. Ji pasižymi erdvia stereo scena, dinamišku bosu, 95 dB jautrumu ir net 12 žemų dažnių garsiakalbių kiekvienoje kolonėlėje. Over 40 years ago, Thorens achieved a stroke of genius with the SoundWall models HP 360 and HP 380: loudspeakers that radiate the entire audio range as dipoles. Perhaps we were a bit ahead of our time back then. However, the SoundWalls are a perfect fit for today's setups and listening habits. Which is why we've simply redesigned them.
The new SoundWall HP 600 adopts the radical concept of its predecessors: it radiates sound equally to the front and rear, directing it with significantly greater precision and uniformity than conventional speakers. This offers tangible advantages, especially in larger listening rooms. Thanks to its dipole design, the Thorens SoundWall HP 600 interacts more predictably and constructively with the acoustics of the room across the entire frequency range. This is even more important in today's living spaces than it was 40 years ago: spacious rooms, hard floors, glass surfaces, and modern furnishings create a decidedly poor environment for conventionally wide-dispersion speakers. The SoundWall HP 600 makes these conditions its ally. It delivers perfectly three-dimensional stereo imaging, agile bass, and dynamic response to your listening position – without compromise.
Open sound baffles:
Sound sails with many advantages
The SoundWall HP 600, like its historical predecessor, is a three-way loudspeaker based on the open-baffle principle. All woofers and midrange drivers are mounted freely suspended within its ultra-flat baffle, meaning they have no enclosure or other damping material on their rear. Such designs are popular for their agile, impulse-responsive performance. Developer Joachim Gerhard has ensured that classic hi-fi virtues are not neglected. He is aided not only by the superb quality of modern loudspeaker drivers, which simply didn't exist 40 years ago, but also by his decades of experience building breathtaking high-end loudspeakers – for example, for Audio Physic and Süsskind.

One challenge with open baffle systems is always the bass. With the technology and resources of the 1980s, the original SoundWall managed a decent, but not groundbreaking, low end – despite the combined power of 15 woofers per stereo channel. The new SoundWall HP 600 has "only" 12, but somewhat larger, woofers per side. However, thanks to its ingenious circuitry, this dynamic dozen achieves high efficiency and impressive bass extension, effortlessly reaching down to 40 Hz. The sound pressure level capability of the new design is almost unbelievable: The SoundWall HP 600 can create a "wall of sound" – confidently and with any musical genre.
"Dipole meets D'Appolito"
in the mid-high frequency range
Two midrange drivers flank two tweeters in the upper baffle area of the SoundWall HP 600. The tweeters operate back-to-back to maintain the dipole character across the entire frequency range. This results in a free, open sound with exceptionally precise imaging. The tightly concentric arrangement of the drivers, based on the D'Appolito principle, provides additional symmetrical focus of the midrange and treble energy. For fine-tuning, the level of the rear tweeter is also adjustable.
Packed with technology in a homely design – sound furniture
With twelve 15-centimeter woofers, two midrange drivers, and two tweeters per channel, the SoundWall HP 600 also makes a striking visual statement. However, thanks to its very shallow depth, elegant wing-shaped profile, and premium materials such as solid aluminum and fine wood veneers, the SoundWall HP 600 integrates surprisingly effortlessly into a wide variety of interior design styles. But it truly becomes invisible in terms of sound: its refined, yet wide-ranging and dynamic sound appears at the listening position as if from nowhere.
The combined surface area of the 24 woofers allows for extremely high, undistorted sound pressure levels. While not always necessary, these are crucial for truly authentic sound. Huge amplifiers aren't required: efficiency and impedance are amplifier-friendly. The SoundWall HP 600 can therefore be driven convincingly with virtually any transistor amplifier and most tube amplifiers as well.
